Details

Session Overview: "Within a cochlear implant (CI) program, effective collaboration between audiological and medical professionals is critical to success in helping clients achieve their full listening potential. Clear communication and sharing of knowledge across disciplines within the clinical team is fundamental to the service delivery model at SCIC. In particular, audiologists work closely with ENT surgeons amongst other professionals. This presentation will include video of CI surgery and will explore the different roles these professionals play in the management of clients from assessment to CI surgery and beyond. In particular, we will focus on the common points of engagement between audiologists and ENT specialists, how to make this communication effective and when one discipline should involve another in case management."
