Session Overview: "Selection, fitting, verification and validation are the essence of hearing device provision. Hearing aid verification should ensure the device is ""fit for purpose"", doing what it is designed to do which is to provide sufficient amplification for a given hearing loss to enable audibility of sounds and intelligibility of speech. This session will explore a range of verification tools, presented by experienced clinicians who work with them regularly. We will look at traditional static measures such as aided thresholds and real ear insertion gain, together with more dynamic measures such as speech mapping and in situ speech mapping. We will also review new tools and best practice for hearing device validation."
