Audiology Australia's Response to the Thriving Kids Initiative Inquiry

Audiology Australia welcomed the opportunity to respond to the Thriving Kids Inquiry, advocating for the inclusion of hearing health in early childhood development policy.

Our submission emphasised the importance of embedding hearing and listening milestones into developmental screening, strengthening workforce training and referral pathways for early identification, and improving coordination across health, education, and community sectors to support children with mild to moderate developmental needs.

By recognising hearing as foundational to communication, learning, and thriving, the Thriving Kids Initiative can better support equitable outcomes for all children.
